Pune’s Ring Road Project Takes Big Step Forward with Land Acquisition Nearly Complete
Pune’s Ring Road Project Update – In Pune, 96% of the land needed for the Ring Road project in the western part has been acquired. This means that work will soon begin on one side of the road. A meeting with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, and Eknath Shinde will decide when the foundation ceremony will take place. This will allow the project to officially start. District Collector Jitendra Dudi shared this news at a press conference.
The District Collector reviewed how different departments are working and how plans can be carried out. The Ring Road will be 169 kilometers long and will circle Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. It is being built by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). In the western part, over 90% of the land has already been acquired. Even though elections are over, and the government has been formed, the foundation ceremony for the Ring Road has not happened yet, causing some concern about delays.

The District Collector said, “The Ring Road is an important project for Pune. In the east, 82% of the land has been acquired. In the west, 96% of the land is ready, and only 4% remains. We hope to start work in the western part soon. A meeting with the Chief Minister and other leaders will decide when the foundation ceremony will happen.”
Purandar Airport Update :
Also, a meeting about the Purandar airport was held with the Chief Minister. After the meeting, the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) was asked to begin land acquisition. The process should start soon, and the airport is expected to be ready by 2029. The Maharashtra Airport Development Corporation (MADC) has already issued a notification for the airport project. The District Collector confirmed that the MIDC will begin land acquisition soon.
In Satara, all offices have switched to an online system called e-office. In Pune, 60% of offices are now using e-office. The District Collector wants to make all offices in Pune fully digital. This will help people get their work done quickly without having to visit the offices. It will also help keep track of files and make sure everything is done on time.
