Organizer of “Venky’s Balaji Rao Birthday Party” Booked for Noise Pollution and Public Disturbance : Akon, Shankar Mahadevan, Whigfield Among Performers

Pune Bavdhan, 10th December 2024: A FIR has been filed against the organizer of an event where famous singers Shankar Mahadevan, Akon, and Whigfield performed along with other well-known artists near the National Defence Academy (NDA). It was a private birthday party for director of Venky’s Group B. Balaji Rao, party happened on the night of 8th December. It caused a lot of noise and disturbance for people in Bavdhan and nearby areas. More than 100 local residents gathered at Bavdhan police station on Monday to complain about the issue.
However, the police have filed an FIR based on a complaint from Police Constable Namdev Kisan Kondalkar. The case is against the event organizer Adinath Sambhaji Mate, who lives at Venkateshwara House (Venky’s office), Sinhagad Road, Pune. The police have not named Balaji Rao or the artists who performed without permission. The charges include sections 292, 293 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with relevant rules from the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules of 2000, the Environment (Protection) Act of 1986, and the Maharashtra Police Act of 1951.
However, Bavdhaan’s residents said that party lasted for all night, they are saying it because those who attended the party posted images and videos on Instagram and based on that it clearly shows that party went on for whole night, but the police FIR says it ended at 2:30 am. Even after multiple complaints from citizens about the loud music, the police were not able to stop the noisy party at Bal Industries, Kokate Vasti, Bavdhan.
The police say that the organizer, Mate, held a private party that violated noise pollution rules set by the administration and Pimpri Chinchwad Police. The party lasted all night and the noise was very loud. Also, harmful LED lights were used at the event. The birthday party, held near Chandani Chowk, disturbed people in Bavdhan, Baner, Pashan, and nearby areas.
Adinath Mate had earlier taken the permission from the Pimpri Chinchwad Police for the birthday party of B. Balaji Rao, Managing Director and Director of the Venkateshwara Hatcheries (VH) Group.
As per the instagram stories it is clearly show that the iconic trio of Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, which includes singer Shankar Mahadevan, guitarist Ehsaan Noorani, and pianist Loy Mendonsa, performed at the party. Also Shankar Mahadevan’s, Shivam performed at the party. Danish singer Whigfield and American singer Akon are also seen entertaining the guests.
As per the police “An FIR has been filed against the organizer of the event. The event had loud music and violated noise pollution rules. Police will investigate it further.”
The investigation is being led by Assistant Police Inspector Mahale, with Senior Police Inspector Anil Vibhute, who is in charge of Bavdhan Police Station.
