In the viral CCTV footage, a car was seen parked in the dark, some young guys out of the car, footage was really shocking because a businessman was kidnapped from this car, Satish Wagh, the maternal uncle of BJP Legislative Council MLA Yogesh Tilekar. The news of the kidnapping came in the morning and then another news came in the evening that Satish Wagh’s body was found. But what exactly happened to Wagh and how he was murdered? What clues have the police got so far in this case?

Satish Wagh, the maternal uncle of BJP Legislative Council MLA Yogesh Tilekar :

Satish Wagh is a farmer and hotelier. He has hotels in the Manjari area of Pune and also rented out some shops on Solapur road. He also owns a Blueberry Hotel on Manjari Fursungi Road, which he rented out. He is maternal uncle of BJP Legislative Council MLA Yogesh Tilekar, but Wagh was not very active in politics. Wagh used to go morning walk daily. On December 9, as usual he went for a morning walk and walking on Manjari Fursungi Road, his usual road. When he came near to his own hotel, Blueberry, but a four-wheeler was parked in the same area. As Wagh approached the four-wheeler, the youths in the four-wheeler got down, threatened him and forced him into the car. Wagh shouted loudly and screamed. He also demanded help, but before anyone could reach for help, the boys took him into the car and fled.

One of the Satish Wagh friend who also used to come for morning walk on same road, saw the kidnapping and tried to chase the car but the car had left, then he immediately informed Wagh’s family about the matter. Wagh’s son and nephew, their friend, tried to find the car from which he was kidnapped. There were some eyewitnesses, they told that the car was seen heading towards Solapur Road. According to this, they reached Solapur Road but there was no trace there either. After all this happened, Wagh’s family filed a police complaint around 7:30 and informed them about what exactly happened.

The police immediately prepared four teams and started an investigation through technical evidence. The police teams were sent to different parts of Pune and the state for investigation. The police got a CCTV footage. In the CCTV footage the car was seen heading towards Solapur from Urali Kanchan, but apart from this, the police did not get any other lead. Because the number plate of this car was not clearly visible in any CCTV footage.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar himself arrived at Hadapsar Police Station around 3 pm and gave instructions to the police regarding the investigation. From 9:30 am, some of the twelve teams of the Crime Branch were investigating in Pune while some teams were sent outside Pune for investigation, but none of the teams could find anything. Since the police were not getting any specific hint, they investigated many angles like whether there was a property dispute behind this kidnapping or whether the murder was due to a family dispute, but still they could not get any infomartion about Satish Wagh.

Since Satish Wagh was the MLA’s maternal uncle and a well-known businessman, his kidnapping caused a lot of attention in Pune. The police were investigating the case seriously. Around 6:30 pm, they got new information that changed the course of the investigation. Some young boys were walking in the Shindavane Ghat area, about 37 km away, when they saw a body. They quickly called the police to report it, when the Crime Branch team arrived, they realized the body was of Satish Wagh, who had been kidnapped earlier in the morning. His body was found within 12 hours of the kidnapping.

The police began a detailed investigation into his murder. After examining the scene, they found a wooden stick nearby, and there were signs that Wagh had been beaten with it. The initial investigation suggested that Wagh was killed with this stick. It seemed that there had been a struggle between Wagh and the kidnappers near the Blueberry Hotel, as his glasses were found at the kidnapping site. The police believe the car then traveled via Solapur Highway to Yavat, where Wagh was likely killed on the way. His body was later dumped in a remote area.

Police sources confirmed that two suspects have been arrested and are currently being interrogated by the crime branch. The police are continuing their efforts to identify and arrest the other people involved in this kidnapping.
