Pune New Year Traffic Alert at Pavana : Traffic Diversions in Place to Prevent Traffic Jam in Pavana for New Year Celebrations

Pune New Year Traffic Alert at Pavana, December 13, 2024: New year is at door step now, and Punekars are ready to welcome the new year. Every year end lot of Punekars go to Pavana Dam to celebrate the new year party. Many times they stuck into traffic.
But this year, Pune District Collector Dr. Suhas Divase, has come up with the new traffic diversion orders. That will ease the traffic congestion at Pavana and not ruin the Punekars party. This traffic diversion changes will take effect from midnight (12:00 AM) on December 30, 2024, to midnight (12:00 AM) on January 1, 2025.
Below are the details of diverted route along with vehicle type.
New Year Traffic Diversions for December 30, 2024:
Light four-wheelers from Pune-Mumbai-Kamshet to Pavana market :: It will be diverted via Yeolse Gram Panchayat Fata → Shivli (via Vijay Adkar’s house) → Kothurne-Malvandi Fata → Brahmanoli → Varu Fata → Fangne → Thakursai → Khadak Gehende → Jawan → Chawasar → Morwe → Tung.
But, vehicles heading towards Pavananagar, Kalegaon, Ambegaon, Shidgaon, Pale, Ghamandhara, and Dudhivare will be allowed.
For Local Residents: Local Residents of Brahmanoli, Varu, Kothurne, and Shivli not allowed to use Yeolse road and instead need to follow this route “Varu Fata → Brahmanoli Fata → Pavana River Bridge → Kalegaon Fata → Pavana Market → Yeolse Kamshet”.
Heavy Vehicles : Heavy vehicles are not allowed to Pavananagar Market. They will be diverted via Pavananagar old rest house → Kedari Khanaval Chowk → Seven Number Colony → Patrachawl Secretariat → Gram Panchayat Office.
But, heavy vehicles coming from Brahmanoli, Kalegaon, and Dudhivare will proceed via Pavananagar market to Yeolse.
New Year Traffic Diversions for January 1, 2025 :
Vehicles from Tung, Gorwe, Chawasar, Jawan, Khadak Gehende, Thakursai, and Fangne heading towards Pavananagar and Kamshet are not allowed from entering Kale Colony and Pavananagar. Instead they have to follow Brahmanoli Fata → Varu Fata → Malvandi Fata → Kothurne → Shivli (via Vijay Adkar’s house) → Yeolse Gram Panchayat Fata → Pune-Mumbai-Kamshet.
One-way traffic will be enforced from Brahmanoli Fata → Varu Fata → Malvandi Fata → Kothurne → Shivli (via Vijay Adkar’s house) → Yeolse Gram Panchayat Fata on January 1, 2025.
Residents of Varu and Brahmanoli will be not allowed via the Pavana River Bridge and will use alternative routes through Varu Fata → Malvandi Fata → Kothurne to Pavana Market.
