Pune: Walmik Karad, who had been hiding for several days, has now turned himself in to the police. He is one of the people accused in the murder of Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh. Karad, who is known to be close to Minister Dhananjay Munde, went to the CID office in Pune to surrender. He had been missing for a while. On December 28, a rally with people from all political parties was held in Beed district. Almost 2,000 gram panchayats across the state took the decision that they will close the office. This made many people wonder if Karad had some political support and who might be helping him. Some leaders from opposition parties and even from the government raised questions on government. Which put the pressure on the state government. Now that Karad has surrendered, people are waiting to see what happens next in the investigation.

What Walmik Karad Said in the Video :

Karad said that a false complaint about extortion was made against him at the Kej police station. He also said he has the right to get bail before being arrested, but chose to give himself up to the CID office in Pune. Karad asked for the people responsible for Santosh Deshmukh’s murder to be arrested and punished. He said his name was being linked to the crime because of political reasons. Karad added that if the police investigation finds him guilty, he is ready to accept whatever punishment the court decides.
