Pune Maharashtra : MIDC Plans ₹650 Crore Infrastructure Projects to Ease Traffic in Hinjewadi

Pune : To reduce traffic in Hinjewadi, Pune, the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) plans improvements worth ₹650 crore. This follows a recent order from Maharashtra’s Industries Minister, Uday Samant, to fix traffic problems.

The plans include widening the road between Shivaji Chowk and Samshan Bhumi Chowk for ₹25 crore. It also includes a 5 km highway stretch towards Maan village for ₹584 crore. A 720-meter flyover at Lakshmi Chowk and a six-lane road from Baner to Hinjewadi are also part of the plan. MIDC will install 280 CCTV cameras in the IT Park area for ₹7 crore.

Uday Samant Meeting with HIA : Traffic in Hinjewadi

Last month, Samant met the Hinjewadi Industries Association (HIA) to discuss issues. MIDC officials and other industry representatives attended. They talked about traffic, waste management, power shortages, and high housing costs.

Archana Pathare from MIDC said the work was delayed because of election rules. But now, projects will speed up due to the minister’s involvement.

In June, the HIA claimed 37 companies left Hinjewadi in 10 years due to poor infrastructure. MIDC denied this and said they had no such information. Minister Samant blamed the opposition for spreading negative stories.
