PMC Takes Strong Action Against Garbage Dumping in Pune: 52,405 Fined and ₹3.25 Crore Collected
Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is working hard to keep the city clean. They have taken strict actions against people who dump garbage in public places.
In the last year, PMC fined 52,405 people, and collected ₹3.25 crore in fines. This is the highest amount of fines collected in the last three years.
Garbage Dumping Problems Still Continue
Even with these actions, garbage is still being dumped at night, creating big piles in different parts of the city.
There are 923 places where garbage dumping happens often. While PMC is trying to fix this, problems like not enough workers, people not separating their garbage, and poor waste collection make it harder to solve.
18 Special Teams Working
To catch those dumping garbage, PMC has created 18 special teams with their own vehicles. These teams work every day to find and fine people who don’t follow the rules. Most of the violations happen when people throw garbage in public or don’t separate it for collection.
Garbage Still Piles Up
Even though many fines have been given, piles of garbage are still seen in some areas. People are starting to wonder if PMC’s efforts are enough to solve the city’s garbage problem.
