Leopard Killed in Accident with Speeding Car on Mumbai-Pune Expressway
Lonavala, 18th December 2024: A leopard was killed when it was hit by a fast car on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway last night. The adult leopard was struck around 11:30 PM in the Vadgaon Maval area near Lonavala and died at the spot. The driver ran away after the crash.
After hearing about the accident, the Highway Traffic Police and the Maharashtra Forest Department went to the scene. The Forest Department took the dead leopard. The police have registered a case against the unknown driver, at the Vadgaon Maval Police Station.
There are many case reported about leopard accidents. Leopards have been killed in accidents on the roads in Pune district, including areas like Manchar, Otur, Ale Phata, and the Solapur Highway near Daund. The accidents occurred when the leopards were crossing the road and were hit by vehicles.
