PCMC Urges Housing Society Presidents to Help with Property Tax Recovery by Displaying Defaulter Lists

Pune, PCMC Property Tax Update : Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is working hard to recover ₹69.56 crore in unpaid property taxes from newly assessed housing societies. The tax department has provided a list of defaulters to the society presidents. List includes the names and amounts owed by defaulters. PCMC is asking for help in collecting the tax dues.

Survey Identifies Unregistered Properties

A private firm is carrying out a property survey to find properties that have not been registered. The survey uncovered 64,260 properties, leading to new tax assessments. As a result, ₹69.56 crore in tax bills have been issued to owners in 651 housing societies.

Actions Taken to Recover Taxes : Property Tax Update

Municipal Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil has asked society presidents to work together in getting members with unpaid taxes to pay their bills on time.

Survey Details and Outstanding Taxes

Avinash Shinde, who works in the Tax Department, said, “Society presidents should show the list of people who owe taxes. This will help get everyone to pay their bills.”
