Update on the Murder of Santosh Deshmukh and the Police Investigation : Six of the seven main people involved in the murder of Santosh Deshmukh, the Sarpanch of Massajog, have been arrested. But Krishna Andhale is still missing. On Saturday, January 4, the police arrested Sudarshan Ghule and Sudhir Sangale in Pune. Before their arrest, other people involved – Jayram Sathe, Mahesh Kedar, Pratik Ghule, and Vishnu Sathe – were already caught.
On December 31, Walmik Karad, who was thought to be the leader of the murder and extortion plan, was arrested in Pune. After Karad’s arrest, the police caught Ghule and Sangale within the four days. Also, Siddharth Sonawane, who helped track the location of Santosh Deshmukh, was arrested.
Ghule, Sangale, and Sonawane are now in police custody for 14 days. The police custody of the first people arrested ended on Monday, but it could be extended.
So far, most of the people accused in the murder of Santosh Deshmukh have been arrested. Only Krishna Andhale is still on the run. The police are working hard to catch him.
Who is Krishna Andhale?
Krishna Andhale is from Maindwadi village in Beed district. He is 27 years old. He has been involved in six crimes in the last four years, like attempted murder and extortion. He has been hiding since 2023 because of a case related to attempted murder.
Krishna Andhale is believed to be the main person behind Santosh Deshmukh’s murder. Even though he has done many crimes, he managed to avoid being caught with help from his friends. Vishnu Sathe, who helped Andhale meet Walmik Karad, is also involved in the crime.
After the murder of Santosh Deshmukh on December 9, Andhale, Ghule, and Sangale ran away from Vashi in Kej. They traveled to Pune, Bhivandi, and Gujarat. They stayed in Gujarat for a while, but ran out of money. So, Andhale went back to Pune to get money, but didn’t return to Gujarat. After that, he lost contact with Ghule and Sangale.
On January 4, the police arrested Ghule and Sangale in Pune and transferred them to the Special Investigation Team (SIT). The police are still searching for Krishna Andhale, but they don’t know where he is.
Even though important people have been arrested in the case, finding Krishna Andhale is important for solving the case. The police are working hard to find him.
